Problem firing AREV 3.12 with Windows XP Second pack (AREV Specific)

I have been using an old single-user AREV 3.12 system for a long time but recently, probably after some Windows XP upgrade I effected, it has stopped working altogether in the sense that when I try to launch it, I get the Windows error message: .
I'm still using the same shortcut I've been using for ages and although I had a look at this forum, I couldn't find any help on this subject.
Has anyone come across this problem lately and if so, do you have any solution for it?

What happens when you go to the command window in your Arev directory and type "AREV.EXE"?

Typing 'Command' in Start/Run is giving me the same '16 bit' error message so I cannot even try launching Arev in Dos mode from the command window. This seems that my problem is even more basic than I thought … any help?

What's in your CONFIG.NT and AUTOEXEC.NT files?

Thanks Sprezz for pointing me to the right direction … I discovered that somehow the autoexec.nt file went missing, so I simply restored it and everything now works fine.
One problem, however, which I've had for a long time (even before I had the latest problem). Whenever I invoke another application from within my AREV system (e.x. MS-Word or MS-Excel), when I return to the still open AREV task, it now displays in half-screen. Is there some fine-tuning that I'm missing … I've tried various things.
Thanks

I've found that to be very video driver specific. One thing I have found which helps on the display issues is to have the PIF (or shortcut) run in Win95 mode, and disable all the other options. So, on my AREV systems I've got the run in 256 colors, run in 640*480 mode and disable visual themes all set. It seems to solve the compressed text problems, and that other pesky one where the left column is just a bit too far left to be seen.
