I am using SCRIBEroutine to edit data. The routine edits date and time data correctly. However it does not edit simple integer data correctly. The iconv and oconv formats for the data are passed in the same way to the routine but the routine rejects formats such as "MD0", "MD2" etc indicating the data must be in the MD0 format. When you enter MD0 as the data the routine excepts the data and passes back a blank,

What is the correct format for passing iconv and oconv infformation to the scribe routine?.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Mark

The manual says that "Syntactically as well as operationally, this is exactly the same as an In Pattern operation in the Prompt window in Paint."

Are you surrounding the MD0 in parentheses? Such as (MD0)

Warren, Thanks for the advice. I have tried varoius option for passing the iconv/oconv formats and none have worked. I'll take your advice and hard code the IPAT=MD0" and the OPAT=(MD0)" and see if this works. Iconv/oconv routines surrounded by work fne.

Thanks again Mark
