We generally work with in-process engines. However, on Terminal Services or where we wish a single Delphi app to have access to more than one engine (on the same machine, not a remote engine) we generally use named pipes. On nearly all systems this is fine, but on some we get an error which we are pretty sure relates to the security settings on the server meaning that the named pipe cannot be set up. Using TCP/IP instead works on these systems, but this poses other difficulties, but we were wondering what the DACL credentials being used for the pipe are e.g. NULL as this might help us identify the particular permissions that need to be set on the machines where the difficulties arise.

Any advice that anyone has on pipe permissions would be gratefully received.
