I am not sure if this has been around a long time .. or if i am just having a gray moment .. but

If i have a Edittable bound to a set of columns and one of the columns is a SYMBOLIC .. why does it let me enter data into the symbolic column? Does this make sense or has something gone completley ary?

DSig,

This has been the way of the edittable since the beginning of time. Until recently we would have to work with the POSCHANGED event to skip over these types of columns. In 7.1.x the Form Designer gives us the option to protect and/or skip columns.

Just remember that if you protect the symbolic, you may wish to unprotect if you were to use it for a QBF search criteria (although in multi row edit table this seems less likely).
