Datalogic Modems (eg. a D4/H) will talk to a software

library product called Visual Voice which interfaces

to VB6. There are other products out there (Exceletel)

which use the Microsoft TAPI interface (although there

are differing levels of TAPI compliance among devices

and different TAPI versions from Microsoft). Some

modems will trap things like caller's phone number

too so check all the features first.

The ability to talk TAPI from 16 bit apps (like OI) is

not easy, given that TAPI is pretty much a 32 bit affair.

However, there are intricate ways to get OI to talk to

32 bit programs, and it may just be possible.

Some more info about your specific implementation would

be helpful to establish technical feasibility.
