Hi,
I imported a file from excel in text format and I have it in "OI Tables". If I want to convert this raw data to a fully queryible database what should I do next? I am new to OI.
Thanks for any help.
Pete

Peter,
If I understand you correctly, your database is already fully able to be queried. You may want to massage your data, of course, but you can perform queries at any time. Your job now is using or developing a tool to query with. If you create a standard form for viewing this data then you will automatically get QBF (Query By Form) in your menu. This is a basic query tool that could use some enhancements but it can get simple searches done for you.

Pete,
Once you have the data in OI you can also use the Revelation Reporter product. You can also use RLIST for simple reports. There is a simple shell around RLIST called Report Builder … to run it, open the System Monitor and type "exec or_main". There is a third party reporting tool as well, Sprezzatura's S/List.

Don,
Thanks for your help, but when creating a toll for querying the data, how do I create a suitable form and then link it to the data?

Cameron,
Part of the problem I have is that when I go into form builder to start to build something that I can use to query the table, I can access the table I want but only one feild comes up "REC_NO". Is this unrecoverable or is there something I can do to create new fields for querying.
The table has been imported from excel using a delimited text file.
Thanks for any help.
