Try running in full-screen mode instead of Windowed. The video card seems to be the determining factor here.
Otherwise, what version of ARev, network, network service or NLM?
Generally ARev on XP will always be slower than under Win98. Win98 still has significant chunks of 16 bit code and is willing to give more resources to ARev than XP.

Without knowing anything about your configuration it is difficult to give advice.
What version of ARev are you running?
Is Expanded Memory (EMS) working?
Is ARev running on a network?
Which network (Windows or Novell or ???)?
What version of network?
If Novell which client are you using?
Are you using the Windows Service or Novell NLM? What version?

Windows NT versions, including Windows 2000 and Windows XP will sow down if a DOS program uses keyboard polling, as Arev does. I know of two products which solve the problem.

TAME didn't seem do a thing for Arev v1.16, in fact it appeared to make it slower on XP pro. I don't know if CPU+ will work with v1.16.
On one client's systems ARev 3.12 seems to run with little noticable slowdown on Compaq/HP workstations with XP pro. On another client's systems based on Intel motherboards 3.12 runs fine but not so v1.16 which runs dog slow in Windowed mode. These clients recently upgraded from Win98 workstations to XP pro for conversion to OI.
Performance with the NLM can be adversely affected by the version of the Novell Client32.
TAME can be tried free for 30 days.
Then there's always ARev32 ;)

From tcl type WHO
This will show the version of ARev, provided you can get to TCL (usually press F5 unless the user is restricted from TCL access).
v3.12 maintenance release can only be applied to ARev 3.11 or ARev 3.1.
If the system is version 1.x, 2.x, or 3.0x upgrade to 3.1x must be purchased from Revelation Software.
