Esteemed ladies & gentlemen,

What's the easiest way to issue DOS commands (format, xcopy, etc) from inside a Basic+ program? In other words, how does one regain AREV's PCPERFORM capability in OI?

Thanks in advance.

John,

Andrew's answer is correct for the question, "What is OI's equivelent to PCPERFORM?" However, there may be better ways to approach your goal. For instance, the Utility function has options for making directories, renaming directories, removing directories, renaming files, etc.

It is far better to figure out what OI has already created in house before using COMMAND.COM to execute OS commands.

I use UTILITY too. I have also been wondering where you have been for so long? Last met at User Conference in San Fran. Will be in Atlanta for August if you get around a bit

Thanks, Don. I already use utility where possible, but it doesn't extend to tasks like formatting a diskette or xcopying directory trees. I just didn't realize you could access DOS via runwin.
