I'm working on an AREV 3.12 group of applications. I'm working on modifying a report program to pull data from the current AREV application and several other AREV applications, all at the same time. This is so the user only has to run the report once and not have to run it in each application seperately and then combine the results.

Previously I was given some excellent advise on how to get to those other tables in the other applications by using the SETFILE/SETALIAS.

I'm now in testing and it dawned on me, should I also be getting the bang (!) index tables as well? So for example, one of the tables I use in the report is Purshase Requisitions. I SELECT off of this table for the core data in the report. Should I also be doing a SETFILE/SETALIAS to the index table of Purchase Requisitions when I'm reaching into the other applications to pull that data into the report as well?

You should not have to do that. The setalias to the base table should automatically create an alias for the ! file.

Thanks Victor. Thru my testing I seemed to be getting the right indexes but I wasn't sure if I was doing everything correctly or not and getting a false positive result.
