I have a AREV2.11 application for which i would like to track changes to certain fields in records that are changed. There are of course 2 options:

option 1: add a presave routine to the window to check for thes certain fields having been altered and if so write out the old values to either an audit file or to an audit field of the record being saved

Option 2: put an MFS on the file to dothe above.

I am not too concerned if option one is used that someone could go with an editor and alter the record without the changes being tracked. (the only person with that know how is me - the clients don't have that know-how).

What is more of an issue is if there is a generic MFS out there (already doing this) that could easily be modified for my app or in the opinion of some of you more knowledgable people, which would be the quickest and easist solution to implement?

There is an MFS already available that does this. I think it came on one of the utilities diskettes.
