Woe is me.

Can anyone fix a rev file which has a group format error but the header file cannot be fixed by Fix_LH?

Fingers crossed,

Thanks.

If you know the record keys you have a good chance of recovery.

For example, if the keys are sequential or indexed.

Attach and open the table.

Loop and read the items (dont select the file, use the index).

Write the items to another empty table.

Clear the original corrupted table with clearfile.

This will also clear the GFE.

Copy the items back.

Make a backup copy first though!!

Dear Eric

thanks for standing by - after 167 VBs you would have a rusty 386.

Andrew M sorted it out for me but I appreciate your response. Unfortunately we only drink XXXX up here cos its easier to spell and doesnt rhyme with anything.

All the best
