I am using Arev verions 3.12 running on a Novell network, with Windows95 workstations. We are running into a sharing violation error that appears at different times, when trying to logon to Arev, when trying to compile, and various other times. It does not happen all of the time and not to all workstations, but it has become a real problem that we can't seem to get rid of.

We tried seeting the Network Cache from 0 to 50, this did seem to help somewhat but we are still having these sharing violations, we have to hit F for Fail to get Arev to do anything when we see these messages.

It is extremly hard to develop in this environment, so I would appreciate any help.

Lori,

I'm not sure if this will solve your problem, but here's what we found due to a similar situation (sharing violations on LPT ports).

If we used Novell's Client 32 on a Win95 "A" release, we had problems (MS's client was okay, but didn't play with the NLM nicely). Client 32 on Win95 "B" was okay.

We installed service packs on the "A" release and the problem went away; we can now use Client 32 without sharing violations.

Good luck.
