Hi everybody. Our new customer wants to hook up a cash

drawer and we've seen in AREV how you put in printer control

characters to open the cash drawer.

But with OIPI you can't do that can you? Can you?

Or would you put in separate code to use the original

Printer On commands like:

Printer On
Print char(blabla)
Printer Off

Thanks for help - Jackie

Jackie,

You need something that can communicate directly to the port. Otherwise the Window's print engine will take over and attempt to convert you output into printer friendly text. We recommend Tony Splaver's Direct Print DLL for these kind of tasks. It's a great way to enable direct-to-port output or simply converting pre-existing AREV print code (especially code that has been fine tuned for specific printers.)
