Hi All,

A client of ours is continually getting GFEs (Group Calculation Error) in Group 0 (code 4) of a particular table of our application.

The error description is - Initial setup failed!! Table size 14336, framesize 1024, modulo 13; table size/frame…."

We copy records to another table, clear the table and copy records back again, then copy 'missing' records from a backup table.

This occurs 2 or 3 times a day. Is there a known cause for this error?

Any help would be appreciated as the system is used 24/7.

You don't give much about the run-time environment (desktop, etc.), but I would suspect write-behind caching on one of the desktops. Group 0 gets modified all the time as records are added/deleted/changed. Are you using any Network product (Novell or Windows2000 services) on the server? What LAN driver are you using?
