What is Arev trying to tell me when I bring up a brand new window that I just created and when I put the key-id into it, the curser refuses to go 'up' into the window. The curser goes to the lower left corner and just blinks fast.

Normally, what this means is that there are protected or symbolic fields with post or pre-prompt processing telling window to move to another prompt. This prompt is also protected or symbolic and has it go to another protected prompt and so forth. If the current prompt is not accessible through either protection or its being a symbolic, window will move to the next prompt.

Basically, window has no place to stop and settle.
