NOVELL 3.12 SERVER WITH 35 USERS
AREV 2.1 &
NLM 1.06
WE ARE ATTEMPTING TO RUN CITRIX 1.7
PROBLEM: WHEN AREV IS RUN FROM THE CITRIX BOX WHEN NLM IS LOADED
PERFORMANCE IS POOR. WHEN AREV IS RUN FROM THE CITRIX BOX WHEN NLM IS NOT LOADED
AREV PERFORMANCE IS GREAT.
QUESTION #1 DOES THE NLM UPGRADE (1.06 TO 1.12) HELP THIS AT ALL?
QUESTION #2 DOES ANYONE RUN A SIMULAR SET UP? PLEASE HELP.
THANKS

I'm running LHIPXSER and LH 1.10 .
And yes, performance with the NLM is poor.
If you're keeping AREV on the Citrix Box, you shouldn't need the NLM. If your accessing a Novell Server via Winframe and have a descent network with good net cards and the latest vlm's…you also should be ok…NO GFE's..or very few. If you have to run the NLM, Winframe is going to be a dog.
If your stuck with AREV, you might want to downgrade to WinView. Although it's not supported anymore, it runs perfect with the NLM and offers the user a much better interface.
Depending on what you're doing, protocol may become the new issue. But, it's a better issue.

I have a client running WinView 2.3 (latest build). We loaded the NLM (1.10) and cannot log into AREV if the TSR and YIELDDOS are both loaded. Performance is terrible with the NLM only, as the keyboard polling drags it down. Without the NLM, performance is fine, but the Win95 stations on the network keep causing GFE's. Could you post any pointers/tips on getting the NLM to work with YIELDDOS? If you aren't having trouble with this combination, could you post your setup or send via email?

I'm running WinFrame 1.7 and the AREV NLM v1.5 on Novell 4.1, and performance is still really poor through WinFrame. Did you ever find a solution ie the Novell client 32 for NT? If so some info on how you approached this problem would be appreciated.
