Revparam and Windows 2000 (AREV Specific)

I have a client who is trying to set up an Arev program on Windows 2000. He said that when he has the ServerOnly=True in the Revparam file, he gets errors. When he sets it to false, it seems to work okay. He wants to know if this might cause other problems that he is unaware of.
I'm a little uncertain as to what this feature actually does, so I wasn't sure what to tell him. Does anyone know how this works on Windows 2000? Thanks.

Erica,
If your client is running AREV on a standalone workstation then the ServerOnly setting should be set to false (or 0). Or you could simply remove the REVPARAM file altogether.
If your client is running AREV on a file server (e.g. Novell, NT, 2000) then they need to be running the appropriate network product from Revelation (i.e. Novell NLM or NT Service) and you should have the SeverOnly=True enabled. This setting informs your client whether the network product is functioning properly or not.

Erica,
If the client is installing ARev on Win2000, they may have had the NT Service on the previous (assuming) NT Server. I'm assuming this so the ARev network driver, the All Networks Driver, is looking for the NT Service to be running. If it is not running, then REVPARAM file, set as ServerOnly=1, tells ARev that it must be running to allow access to ARev.
Assuming all this, I think that the NT Service has not been installed on the Win2000 server.

I explained the situation and what that information means to my client, and as I haven't heard back from him, I assume it was a network-related problem that he was able to resolve. Thanks!
