Is there a way of reading a file (lets call it upgrade.txt) from a web site with OpenInsight. I know how to activate this file in a browser with "shellexecute" or "utility", but is there an actual way of reading the information within this file without actualy starting you browser?

Hi,
I just release the final version of the OpenInsight Windows Add-on Manager (OIWAM), which allows you to fully integrate 32-bit ActiveX controls into your OI applications. The OIWAM 1.0 contains two controls that may be able to help: Internet Transfer Control and Web Control. The Internet Transfer Control allows you to copy files via FTP or HTTP, and then you can open the text file on your computer. The Web Control allows you to embed all of the features of IE 6.0 into your OI windows. Please let me know if you would like some help testing the OIWAM in your application. You can download an evaluation version at: http://www.pacifier.com/~splaver.
