Have been runnung Arev3.12 together with NLM, for several years.
Decided to increase system security and availability by purchasing and installing VINCA Standby Server.
This provides a full standby server which mirrors one or many other servers and, if a problem occurs , should take over.
Attempted to install but after installation, AREV clients could not see the NLM (F466 error).
Vinca updates the servers it is mirroring and it would apper that this update scewed up in some way the NLM.
The Vinca software was unistalled but the problem persisted. On restoring the PUBLIC and SYSTEM directories from a backup the problem disappeared.
Has any one ever tried this product with Arev and the NLM, or has anyone an idea on what the problem may be.

I am just about to do the opposite - I have been running Vinca Standy Server for years, and am about to install the NLM. If you solve this, could you let me know

We are running a Vinca Standby Server, Netware 4.12 with Arev 3.12 and NLM 1.5 without too many problems. There is a memory leak in which the short term cache memory and the cache memory allocator run out of memory. We believe it has something to do with the NLM but nothing conclusive yet. If you need the name of my software consultant who set up our Vinca system, send me an e-mail to John_Hanson@ea.epson.com
