I've got a file that will not work properly with R/LIST in AREV 1.16

or AREV 2.12. Only one file does this.

The R/LIST statements that do not work are

"select file (with field=A or with field=B) and with field2=C

R/LIST refuses to parse the above statement saying that the

parentheses were unrecognized.

The second problematic statement format is:

"select file with field=A or=B"

This gives the error that EQ is unrecognized, so I have

to do the workaround of "select file with field=A or with field=B"

Both of these statements work correctly on other files. What could be

causing this?

The other problem, also report related, is the intermittent VSPACE

memory errors that come up when reports are listed to the screen,

crashing the report display program. What can be done to get rid of

VSPACE crashes forever?

The first question seems unknown to me. I will try it this evening on another system.

The second one

Select file with field=A or=B

Try this one

Select file with field (=A or=B )

In AREV 3.12 it doesn't occur anymore. The first statement works fine then.

VSPACE crashes occur when you have to little memory to use the normal listing display.

We had the problem a few times and figured out that something should be done for maximizing the available memory p.e. using QEMM

Please tell me more about your hardware if you want nore help.

You can do that also by mail (Mecomp@xs4all.nl)
