I am running on a dual boot machine. MS Dos 6.22 and Windows NT, I am booting to the MS Dos partition! When trying to print from within my application I get the generic message of Printer Off Line, Quit or Retry. The printer is a local printer hooked directly to LPT1:. I have seen this error before with a network printer and simply used the Novell Capture statement to reroute the printer output. There is no use of the DOS mode command being invoked. Is this problem related to the dual boot set up with this PC? Help…..

Mark,
Have you tried manually printing something to the LPT port?
From a DOS prompt, type:
TYPE mydoc.txt ] LPT1
where mydoc.txt is a text file.
See if this throws an error message. If it does, then you're having a problem with your LPT port. If not, double check your printer definitions in AREV.

The printer will print in dos with no problems. If you go to a TCL and pc out, it will print that way too. The computer is a brand new Dell 450 Pentium, that is hooked to a printer sharing device. There was not a problem with the same setup on an older Dell 486. If the new Pentium is directly connected to the printer it will work, just not with the printer sharing device.
