I am getting the error RTP57A Line 15. ERRMSGB28 when the user attemps a lookup using the '\' in the key field followed by an indexed value. Access to the record is fine if the @ID is entered. In looking through the discussion group it appears that RTP57A is used only on a Novell network. The client is running Windows 2000 server with a Windows 2000 client. This configuration has been working for a few weeks now but this message just started popping up today on most, but not all, desktops.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Jack,
Actually, RTP57A is used in Microsoft networks. You can get errors with this routine if memory conditions are poor on the workstation. When you do a WHO from TCL what do you get for Available memory and Expanded Memory?

I'll check that out, Don. I always set expanded memory to 4096 but the MIS prople at the client's company started messing with it because the say that the client workstation is taxing the server's CPU at 100% even when it is just sitting there doing nothing. I'll bet you are correct in that they have set it too low. Thanks very much for your response.

Sounds like the MIS people might be a bit confused. AREV will take up 100% CPU on modern OSs unless you use a product like our "CPU Plus". It will not take up any Server CPU to speak of unless it is doing something OR running on the server.
Don is quite correct - B28 is "Not enough string space - Out of Memory".
