We are running Advanced Revelation 2.1 with NPP 1.5. Today we started getting a lot of "cache flush lock by other" errors. The problem seems intermittent - if a TCL statement fails, I can wait a short while and try again and it might succeed. To try to correct the problem this morning, we disconnected all users and stopped/restarted the network service. The problem went away for a while, but is slowing coming back.

We have not specified a value for CacheFlushLocks in the REVPARAMS file, so it is using the default value. Our REVPARAMS files are:

Locks=True

FlushFileSizeUpdates=True

FlushAllUpdates=True

MaximumOpenDosFiles=2500

MaximumOpenLHFiles=2500

Reading McNerthney's 4/9/97 description of locking, is there any relation to the number of users accessing the system and the available size of REVLOCKS or the size of the byte blocks in the .LK and .OV files?
