When we try to rebuild an index from the Database Manager, Tools, Index, Update, it says ?no files have indexes on them?.

If you go into Add an Index, the field already has an index and therefore wont allow you to build it. If you use Arev3 to remove the index, then you can add the index in OI. But if you want to update the index, the database still says ?no files have indexes on them?.

Furthermore, the indexes aren?t updating when new entries are being added to the file. We are using the Update_Index routine which is certainly working correctly at other sites.

We have tried resyncronising the database to no avail.

Does anyone know what is going on?

TIA

Robert,

Is this another case where an ARev application has been ported to OI.

Indexes created in ARev - hence SI.MFS on in Revmedia, but not in Systables (DBT), and no ! tables attached correctly ??

Try removing files from database definition and then adding them back in.

Where is the information retrieved from to determine if a file is indexed. How can the program which determines which files are indexed miss indexed files, but Update.Index will rebuild the index on these files?
