Editbox w/symbolic don't scroll (OpenInsight Specific)

Hmmm, this seems simple. I have an Editbox that is databound to a symbolic. When I bring a record up, the EditBox gets populated. When I want to read the text value using the vertical scrollbar, the scrollbar is disabled. Is the normal behavior of a symbolic within an Editbox? or can I do something else to make it work automatically.
As a work-around, I did create an "invisible" databound Editbox for the symbolic. Then I took the data there and stuffed it into a non-databound Editbox for display. Scrolling works there, but again, I'm wondering is there an easier process that I missed.
Thanks,
Ray Chan
P.S. Posting on other side as well.

Here's some code I've got lying around. See if you can use it. Put it in the CREATE handler of the form
Thanks man! It worked like a charm. I'm getting a good amount of code myself "lying around" so to speak, but my problem is that I don't remember them . And then when I look at something I did earlier, I'm sometime amazed that I was ever that smart .
For sure, I will document your little tip. I looked on this site, but couldn't find any reference to the question I had.
Many thanks again.

Ray,
I don't think my memory is better than yours. I certainly must have had exactly the same edit box/symbolic problem as you once, but couldn't recall it. My first thought when I read your posting was that you must have done a trivial mistake like accidentally setting the control disabled. But then I checked my extensive collection of sample windows. You see when I try out something I often make a separate procedure or window, with some comments, and save it for later. And I try to save it with a descriptive name, so I can retrive it later. All my samples are named TEST_, and in this case I found what I looked for among a few TEST_EDITBOX_ windows.

Same here. I have a bunch of procedures and windows which are also named TEST_ as well for the same purpose (such great minds we are ). I didn't try what you did since I was clueless as to why it wasn't working. At one point, I thought maybe it was a Windows 2000 issue, e.g., Validation is greyed out in the EditTable, but I wasn't sure. For sure, your solution showed your creativity and understanding of windows.
Thanks again for your help. I owe you a quack (sp),

I learn so much on this site from the intelligent and interesting people here. I had no idea what 6X is, but I did a search and found the following.

Thanks give me your mailing address and the 6X from above will be on its way .
