Hi

We have an old Arev application running on our fileserver a Netware5 SP6 server and everything is working fine. Then we have recently installed a new Netware5 sp6 server running Bordermanager 3.6 for Proxy and VPN.

There is now problem connecting and logging in to the servers over the VPN, the problem is our Arev application, it fails to start with the following error:

Linear hash ipx driver - Revmedia open error: FS472

Unable to open boot media map.

The client has the following config

Win95B with Novell Client32 3.10

and the Revelation Client Watchdog v 1.12

The fileserver hosting the Arev application is as mentioned a

Novell Netware5 SP6 and the Revelation Server and Library NLM's are version 1.10

There are no problem starting the Arev application when you are attached to the LAN, the problem is when we try to start the application over the VPN even with the same PC.

Thanks

Peter

As we understand VPNs, this is like running a network over an internet connection with the connections validated against a list of known IP addresses. In many cases this is exclusively using TCP/IP protocol.

Does your VPN support IPX protocol?

Yes, the VPN tunnel is capable of encapsulating IPX packets in IP packets.

What client version are you using? We've had issues with 4.6 but 4.71 seems ok.

What is your frametype?
