Happy New Year all

Does anyone know how I can obtain the date and time from the server so as to synchronise date and timestamping of transactions instead of using the local PC time and date which is frequently wrong?

Thanks

Tony

If you are using Novell Netware, I think you can use one of the set commands to force workstations to lock on to the server time.

If you are using Windows '95/98 with the Netware Client I think it does it by default.

Or you can use one of Steve Smiths Utilities at:

I am using Windows NT4 Server with 95/98 clients and can't find a way to use the server time and date.

Any further suggestions?

Tony

Tony,

I can't remember the exact syntx, but on NT networks there is a command similar to:

NET TIME \\SERVER_NAME /SET

For specifics, go to a DOS prompt and type NET TIME /?.

You wouldnt know how to include a Yes in that line would you so that there is no need for user interaction and then we could run it as a auto batch file on logging in to OI application somehow.
