Arev on a WAN (AREV Specific)

Here's the situation, a customer, whose clients are running Windows 95, on a lan and a wan is having a problem. The lan is accessing the data through a Novell network. The wan users are using WinFrame and dialing into a NT 3.51 server which then access the novell. The wan clients are running into all the traditional Windows95 problems. Which of the following would work best in their situation: the NPP, the Revelation NLM or the Revelation NT Service?

Joseph,
If your users have their arev data on a Novell server using win95 they should be using the NLM. This should still work for the users coming in through winframe. I know that you need to make sure that winframe is set up to use EMS. There are more discussion threads on this subject on our web site. You could do a search for winframe and arev.

Hi, I use to work at Eloquent. I now work for one of the largest health insurance companies in the US, CMG Health. We have seven sites across the US that are connected through a WAN. We also have LANs at all of the sites. We are using a frame relay between all sites. We find that if you use the NLM that will cure most of your problems. We have machines that are 3.1, 95 and NT. The day I started here they loaded the NLM and we have had very few problems. You may have to play with your settings to get it just right. Threads will be added but they are never removed, which slows down processing speed. We have dual processors on all our servers, but it only utilizes one. What a waste.
Good luck,
