We had developed an application using VIP2.2 for 16-bit environment (notes4.0 - 16-bit, Chinese Windows 3.1)

The application is originated from VIP1.0.

We encountered the following problem :

1. When the application is executed using VIP runtime 16 with Notes4.0 - 16-bit, we encountered a GPF error indicating error in LTSSW30.DLL.

2. When the same application is executed in design mode, with Notes4.0, 32-bit, there is no GPF error as above.

Kindly assist in the above issue.

Thank you.

Hello Wilfred,

LTSSW30.DLL is the LotusScript 16 bit System Services DLL. It's main purpose is memory management.

Based on the information you have supplied, it seems that the error is being generated from one of two reasons …

1. Corruption

2. Memory Conflict

1. The 16-bit LTSSW30.DLL is 85,632 bytes and is dated Sept. 18 1995. Make sure this is the same size and date as your installed runtime file.

2. More possible, is that you have some 32 bit control, object, LSS file, or platform - specific code that is causing the program to abend. Make sure you have not added a Win95 control to your application or compiled an LSS file in the 32 bit environment, etc. As this will most certainly cause any windows 16 bit application to crash.

Finally, does this behavior happen on all workstations, and have you developed the app in the 32 bit environment, as our 16 bit designer is not tested or supported?

Hope this helps,

Stephen,

Thanks for your reply.

I had checked the files size and date, it is the same as indicated by yourself.

The incident occurred in all workstations.

By the way, the application was developed in Chinese Win 95 using 32-bit designer. We did not add any Win95 Controls in the application. We had created some LSS files, and these files had been included in our scripts. Could this be the cause of the GPF error?

When I debug the application in 32-bit designer, VIP prompt for "_LN069.SBX". Is this a LSS file? What is the purpose of this file?

We purchased VIP Works 2.2, there isn't any 16-bit designer. We have only 16-bit runtime.

Thank you.
