Running AREV V3.12 app on an NT Workstation client

in an NT Server network with NT Service installed.

Client described situation thus:-

Inexplicably multiple drive letters have been mapped on

the client with no obvious manual intervention.

Each drive letter (I,J,L,M,N,O,P) maps to the application

directory on the data drive of the server.

Our standard drive letter mapping in NT for AREV apps

is drive K and all other stations map using that drive.

This station was also originally set to that mapping and

the shortcut for the app pointed to the K drive.

Multiple users have access to this machine via PC Anywhere

and they each have individual shortcuts calling their

particular AREV login batch file - all pointed to K drive.

Respective shortcuts now show separate drive letters as

indicated above i.e. I,J,K,L,M,N,O,P

So either someone is tampering or alternatively either the

NT Workstation is re-mapping of its own volition or the

NT Service has a glitch.

One other possibility!

This happened previously and we reset the mapping and the

shortcuts on this station. Since then the machine has been

re-booted multiple times.

Recent power outages have caused the system to restart so

it is remotely possible that a "previously safe" profile

has been re-activated by NT on boot-up after the power outage.

Wondered if anyone has ever experienced anything like this.

Would appreciate some feedback.
