anybody knows why the #ifdef does not work in the

symbolic fields

we need to share huge amount of code between AREV & OI

and also maintain the AREV version of the app

works ok for programs, but not in symbolic fields

I don't know but if no other answer is forthcoming an obvious workaround is to call a subroutine from each symbolic. This has the advantage of making debugging easier as well.
