Win95

Our client upgraded from version 1.04 to version 1.5 of the NLM overnight and were unable to start AREV this morning.

The initial problem was that the workstation upgrade did not work because the LHIPXTSR was read only.

After correcting this problem and redoing the workstation upgrade we got the following a "linear version synchronisation" error message when trying to log into AREV.

I checked the versions of LH and LHIPXSER on the server and LHIPXTSR on the workstation and they were all version 1.5???

What does this error message suggest and how can I fix it?????

Thanks,

Michael

This error suggests that you are not running the lhipxtsr you think you are OR you are not running the NLM you think you are (have you stopped the NLM and restarted?).

Michael-

The error you are getting means that some part of the NLM is "out of sync" with the others.

If your TSR and your client are both 1.5, my guess is that your NLM has not been updated correctly. Try typing "LHSTOP" from your server console to stop the NLM, and then "LHSTART" to start it again. What should happen is the old NLM will come out of memory, then the new one will be loaded.

Watch the loading and make sure that the 1.5 version is loaded. If it does not load, type "LHSTOP" again, re-install the 1.5 NLM, then type "LHSTART" again.

Hope this helps.

I used LHSTOP to stop the NLM and then used LHSTART to start it again and the versions of the LH and LHIPXSER files were both version 1.5, which is the same as the LHIPXTSR file. We did this a number of times!!!!!

We even ran the commands in the LHSTART file individually and it did not make any difference.

Any other suggestions?????

Thanks,

Michael

We have found that people are frequently running a different lhipxtsr than they think as it has been copied somewhere. If the running service is defintely 1.5 then this is where to look.
