We just completed an upgrade to Novell 5.0 along with NLM 5. We are running a DOS based application using AREV 3.12. Client workstations are a combination of Window95 and Windows NT.

We have one workstation set up to perform indexing with indexing turned off on all other workstations. Since the upgrade the indexing function on the workstation (running Windows 95) does not seem to be working as before. There is no periodic indication that the station is indexing whereas before it would be triggered every few minutes. Occasionally when one tries to use the workstation the end of the activity will trigger the indexing function, but not always. We have experienced no other difficulties with the upgrade other than the usual "tweaking" that must always be done.

Does anyone have any idea about what might have changed during the upgrade to cause the indexing function to vary from the way it worked prior to the upgrade? Anything different in the NLM 5 that could cause this?

This turned out to be a false alarm. User errored in selecting the wrong batch file to start the application following a power outage. All other functions following upgrade from Novell 4.11 to 5.0 are OK.
