I have a client who has been running the following:
AREV v2.12
Novell 3.12 using Token Ring at 16 Mbits
Win95 and 98
Mcafee Viruscan v3
NLM v1.10 with LHIPXTSR
Novell Client 32 v2.x
They have upgraded ONE machine to v4.0 on Viruscan AND Client 32 v3.0.2.0 with latest patch.- very new !!
NOW I am unable to login to AREV with LHIPXTSR loaded
I get an "unable to open boot media map" message
I have tried setting the frame types on the IPX client in Control Panel to Token Ring with no luck.
Why would this be ? Any and all help appreciated.
Thanks
Tony

Does removing or disabling the virun checker make any difference?
Have you tried the Intranetware client?

Re Disabling virus checking
I tried that yesterday and the client tried it before me.
My guess was that it is related to the Client 32 IPX driver as has something to do with the problem. They are going to reinstall the older Client32 and then consult the guy who installed the later Client.
Any other suggestions ?

Tony
PS Will we see you at the Revtech Conference in Melbourne.
(or is that a seriously dumb question?)

Tony,
I have some serious work commitments at present, but am likely to cancel my contracts if they don't let me attend on Feb 25th.

Hello Tony ( And all other with this problem )
This seems to be the problem with novells client32 (ver 2.5 +) and how it maps drives to the novell server. You can solve the problem by remapping the revelation data drive in a dos batch file like:
map root v:=Server\Drive:\path
LHIPXTSR /P /C:200 /R:60
AREV /X /M4096
LHIPXTSR /U
I havent had any problem after doing so, so its worth a try.
Good luck.
