We run Arev on an NT server over a Novell file and print server. I have a maximum capacity of 40 users and although I normally don't have 40 users on line at any one time I do have users that will bring up Arev 2 or 3 times so the can toggle back and forth between functions. This allows for greater speed but I am hitting my 40 user limit very quickly and the system is locking up. The only cure is to offload everyone from arev and allow them to bring it back up.

Other than shutting down (clear locks won't work) is there a better way?

Thanks,

Wayne

Wayne,

If users are bringing up x copies of Arev, they are using a connection for each copy, incrementing the user count.

John,

I'm aware of the incramental use of multiples but it might be something else. I noticed today that I was up to 43 users in my sys VOL with no problems. Any suggestions?

Aaron,

Thanks for the reply. Without giving any warning or error code the system will not allow anyone else to log into AREV. They can get into the Network but AREV locks them out. The AREV screen will come up and just stop at various loading levels never getting to the logon screen. I've noticed that the system slows down at this point, (that's why I think there is more to this than the max number problem). The other thing that happens is, eventually users that are already loggged into AREV lock up. Before the user lock-ups start I can take a few people off the system and allow others to log on but once the user lock-ups start the only thing I can do to correct this is to disconnect everyone and have them reboot.
