Web Discussion search capabilities - part 5 (OpenInsight Specific)

This question isn't really about Web Discussion search, but it was the problems with searching on the Web that triggered it. Struggling with Web search made me seem to remember that the Works CDs were supposed to contain (older, static versions of) the Discussion database. So I thought if perhaps the CD version had a different search interface I could do searches that were difficult on the Web, or that I could grep the html files or something, but I cannot find any Discussion database at all on the 3.4 and 3.5 CDs. Didn't I look well enough, or was that service discontinued, or do the CDs only include more high-brow stuff like the Knowledge Base articles and not the ramblings of people like me?

The Online Discussion was shipped with the OpenInsight WORKS 3.3 and 3.4 CDs as a set of locally browsable HTML files. With 3.5 and 3.6, we shipped the Online Discussion as an OpenInsight application.
On all CDs, the Online Discussion can be found in \WORKS\DISC. The 3.5 and 3.6 OpenInsight application can also be found on the WORKS section of our web site under Works Content –] Threaded Discussion Sample Application.

Jennifer,
Thanks!

How stupid of me! I think I saw that directory but didn't peek because I must have thought if it as "Disc" like in "Compact Disc" or similar, which gave me the wrong associations. I must have been too tired from writing all those "Web Discussion search capabilities" postings! (Any comments on those other four postings, by the way?)

We are currently looking into each one of those issues individually. Because we used the basic, default search funcationality of the software, it will take us some experimentation to see if your issues can be addressed.
