STARTING THIS AFTERNOON I STARTING GETTING:

'V18' Line 1. B703 Variable exceeds maximum length.

Line 1. 'V18' broke because a run time error was encountered.

WHAT DOES V18 DO? HOW DO I FIX THIS PROBLEM?

THANKS FOR THE HELP.

V18 is the attach verb. Perhaps you've added enough files so that all the file/volume/handle information has overload the @FILES variable.

I TRIED TO DELETE SEVERAL OLD, CURRENTLY UNUSED FILES AND

Darn it, I've run across this before but I can't remember exactly but I think the problem might be in the LISTS file.

Can you login to another account/application (say SYSPROG)? If so the command stack item in the LISTS file may be corrupt. Try doing a setfile or setalias to the LISTS file for the account/application and clear the qfile or sysalias file.
