Hi Everyone:
Culd someone please explain me how to export files from REV to Windows platform.
I have Rev on Novell V platform and want to export some files
from rev to text plain files or something that i can use on word or excel.
On Arev we can derive the printer output to a file, there is some
way to do it on Rev ?
Thanks in advance for your help.

PDISK should be in REV G and should route printer output to a file pretty much the same as ARev.
The other option is to use the PORTER routine, available on the Utilities disk. You may have to install PDISK from the Utilities disk also, I don't recall for sure.

Thanks Warren
I try to use PDISK however it isn?t stalled, and we haven?t the disks or even the sysprog password, we try to recover from a major disaster.
I think maybe there is a method to read REV files from AREV o someway to import them into AREV, could you give me some clues, I will appreciate.
Thanks again.

Yes .. you can access Rev g data from Arev.
This is an example from 3.1
Get to Arev main menu. If not your current menu ..
F5 for tcl
F10 for arev menu
DB Admin
Locations
Define
This brings up the SetVolume window
Enter a volume name to reference you RevB volume .. 'REVG'
Enter the data type .. F2 for options 'Revelation G'
Enter tge data location 'c:\mydrive\myrevg'
Press f9 .. this saves your definition
Now, from tcl, you should be able to
ATTACH REVG (or what ever you named it) enter
Now you should be able to access your Rev g tables just like there were Arev tables ..
Hope this helps
