Arev remote print with PC Anywhere (AREV Specific)

A client has recently installed PC Anywhere V11.5 and is trying to run his Arev application remotely. The printer setup seems ok - does test prints and what have you, and prints from Word or Excel, but does not seem to work with Arev.
Has anyone got any experience of this or a clue of what I am missing.

Maybe setup the remote printer using the Generic/Text printer driver?

Sounds like The printer which PCAnywhere is capturing is not associated with the port (LPT1 or LPT2) where Arev is printing

This may be cumbersome, but the way we've found that works the most consistently is to send all print jobs to a dos file using PDISK, then set up an auto-transfer in PCAnywhere to copy the file, then set up a batch file on the remote to copy the print file to LPT1:. If the remote and host are on the same WAN, you could also set up a share on the host and map a drive on the remote to that share, then run the batch file to copy. Have the batch file delete the print file after it copies so you don't get the "This file already exists, would you like to overwrite it?" msg.
To go the PCA printing route, you have to make sure you set up the PCA printer on the host computer as outlined on the Symantec website. I think it also works better if you don't spool MS-DOS print jobs, if that setting is available on the printer.
Either way, you've got to play around with it a little to get it to work right.
