I have a system running Arev 2.12. It has two accounts, ENG and CDY.

I have a file EODTL.ENG in the ENG account. For years I have had a pointer in the CDY account to this file(EODTL.CDY). Starting today

when I try to access the EODTL.CDY file I get the message:

File "EODTL.ENG" and its associated "!EODTL.ENG" file

are under different accounts or volumes.

File can not be opened.

WHATS THE DEAL?

A couple of ideas:

In your SETFILE command, after specifying the account, put in the password to the account:

SETFILE VOLUME-NAME ACCOUNT,ACCOUNT-PASSWORD FILE-NAME FILE-NAME

       or Path

As to why suddenly you have a problem, did the password for either account change today? It has been a long time since I used ver 2.12 (we are on 3.12 with the NLM), so I cannot recall if we ever had an issue like this.

Sounds like something changed the volume label, though I have to admit the message itself it unfamiliar. Do you have a message number?
