Switching Rev G2.B from Novell to Win Server/Client (RevG Specific)

I'm hoping there are a few die-hards out there who can help me with a Rev G2.B question.
I have been running a Rev G2B pension admin app on a Novell Server for over 15 years. It is "bumped" for 10 users and is running the "Novell Advanced Netware" driver.
In a few months, the office server will be changed to a Windows 2003 Server with Windows clients on the workstation. What do I need to do to ensure the app will continue to run on the new server/client?

Change to Byte Range SHOULD work as long as you disable write behind caching… and watch this space, there could be some interesting developments on this in the near future.

We changed from Novell to Windows server several years ago. We changed the driver to GENERIC DOS 3.1 NETWORK.
Also make sure you are not running a mix of Win 98 or older work stations with newer NT, 2000, or XP work stations. The records won't lock between them.
Make sure all of your hardware including connections, switches, hubs, etc. are in good error free condition to prevent GFE's.

David, this is the 1st I've heard of locking problems between win98 & newer Xp/etc type workstations.
Are there configuration notes related to this or just information you've picked up over the years while trying to debug incompatibilities.
thanks, Rich

Richard,
I know of nothing published about it. We discovered it the hard way by introducing an NT server for Citrix clients into our network of Win 98 work stations. It soon became evident that records were not locking between them. We then updated all workstations to Win 2000, and the problem went away.

I think that is actually more of a Citrix issue than a general network driver issue.
It has something to do with the workstation ID not getting set properly in Rev, so it cannot lock the records.

Matt,
Are you able to lock records between Win 98 and NT?

David,
I am running ARev 3.02 and am currently testing the Windows 2000 service. In my tests, I have not had any problems with record locking using a variety of OSes.
However, since I am not running RevG, I don't know how applicable my results are to your situation.

I think there are differences between AREV and REV G2.B that make it work in AREV. However, I was speaking of my experience with Rev G2.B.
I also remember thinking, even insisting, that it was a Citrix problem. It has been several years, and my memory is not perfect, but if I remember correctly, after we discovered the problem between Win 98 and Citrix, we brought up a Win 2000 workstation, and tested locking between it, and both Citrix, and Win 98. Record locking occured with Citrix, but not with Win 98, which is what prompted us to convert all of the Win 98 stations to Win 2000.
It may no longer even be an issue, as most folks are probably not using Win 95/98 anymore.
