I am attempting to deploy an application into the runtime environment. I have attempted both the RDK as well as the copy and rename method suggested by Don Bakke. Regardless of the method used, when I attempt to launch the application I get the OI splash screen and then …. nothing. Has anybody seen this? What am I missing?

S.,

This is hopefully this simple. Before deploying an application (to a runtime environment), you must declare/define an application entry point.

From APPMAIN, choose:

File-]Application Properties-]Setup Entry Point (in Entry Point Group Box).

The default is No Appliation Entry Point, thus the likely cause of the problem.

I wish. I have done that. I set the entry point to Inet_Gateway. Without the entry point I get a no entry point error. Without it, just the splash.

How are you starting the application? Are you using the /AP= /UN= /PW=

switches ?

Normal behaviour is, omit switches, system prompts for application to run. Include switches, attempts to login as far as it can given parameters provided then runs application entry point.

OK is OpenEngine running? Can you run OpenEngine on it's own? If so can you use ACCESS.EXE to get at it?

I think you'll find that the Inet_Gateway form will only run in a development environment (WDP according to the licence). Try changing the application entry point to another form just to verify this.

Wot, by breaking licensing agreements? Do you get a "Get out of jail free" card with your preferred status? That explains why you haven't posted in the licensing forum! :-)
