MFS Disappears (AREV Specific)

I have a client who installed a MFS that logs changes to a specific field. Problem is: when he leaves it is working but every morning when he checks the log, its empty and the MFS is no longer attached on the file. What's going on??? They are attaching images at logon for all their files, Could that be the problem?? I not very familiar with these IMAGES but any thoughts on this might help.

Did they resave the image AFTER installing the MFS?

Bob .. my guess is that the ATTACH image was not refreshed after the MFS was added. Anything at all that changes the REVMEDIA file for a volume requires that the SETATTACH image be refreshed. You can accomplish this automatically via a batch file VOC entry. Remember, that unless all the users have the same drive mapping, this automatic option should not be used. The batch file might look like:
Call the VOC item BATCH_UPDATE
TCL
ATTACH
.. do this for all the items needed to build the attach image
SETATTACH MYAPP_IMAGE (O
then at logon ..
SETATTACH MYAPP_IMAGE BATCH_UPDATE (O
If you'd rather not go through the auto process, then remember to refresh the attach image anytime the media map changes. This includes MFS's, Quickdex, Indexes, etc.

How would I update an Image? I mean, I have 100 files in an image. Do I have to reattach all of them or do I just "add" the new file?? and if so How?? The method described earlier seems to replace existing images and I have 100 users with different images to update..

Bob,
All users are probably using the same image. So, just login as a typical user, manually attach the table with the MFS, then run the SETATTACH commands that Don has outlined for you. Then everybody will benefit upon their next login.

Unfortunately, They all have different images. I checked through a few and they have different volumes and individual tables attached. I take it there is no way to force a file to be attached to all the images without going into each one?

Hi Bob,
All of these users has their own custom image? Wow. Who is this client, Medical Excess?
Anyway, as far as I know you are stuck with a laborious process here. I suppose you could automatic this somehow so it would be a matter of where you find the least amount of work to accomplish the same thing. Wish I had a better answer.
