Does anyone know if Windows ME presents memory shortage problems such as those that occur with Windows 98

Thanks

I would think not.

Have a look at http://tweakhomepc.virtualave.net/memory/resources.html

Hover over the left links to show the details of each.

It refers to Win95 and 98 only, and of course Win 3.x

My take is that Win ME and Win-98 are essentially the same critter except for cosmetic differences. The memory management model is based on the same technology. There are some slight differences, though, since there are several OEM versions of ME that are a little different from hardware mfg's. Gateway had a special one-off version of ME that included a stripped-down version of Office. Micro$ modified CTL3D so that no WordPerfect product could be installed. This made a mess out of OI-16 with an Invalid DLL error. It turns out that if you put CTL3D in the OI directory, OI works properly, but the Office Suite gets into trouble with its main program (OFFICE.EXE).

OI16 still had the same memory issues with ME as it does with Win98-SE.

Kevin,

OI 32 4.1 has, for the most part, eliminated the memory problems on both Win98 and WinME.
