I am in the process of upgrading from a Novell 3.11 to Novell 4.11 and up to Windows 95 still using Arev 2.12. I have some computers in the shipping room which automatically go into Arev with their own menu. I am now using Windows 95 and have QEMM97 loading. I tried putting the arev icon in the startup but what happens Arev loads and the suspends on the bottom task bar and then the QEMM97 loads. If I click on the Arev taskbar it comes up fine. I just want them to when they turn the computer on it automatically logs them in as shipping and then puts them into the menu automatically without ever seeing a Windows desktop. Any suggestions…Best Regards….Joe

Do these workstations ever use Windows at all? If not, you can just turn it off and use MS DOS 7.

Do I need to format their Hard disk and place Dos on there or does Windows 95 already have DOS 7 on it and how do I go about setting that up.

Windows 95 places most critical DOS command executables in the \windows\command directory during install. Other legacy DOS executables still reside in \DOS

If you specify different directories (during install) other than \DOS and \WINDOWS then your specified directories will contain the files.

Edit the MSDOS.SYS file and set the BootGUI option to 0.

I don't know how this will affect network usage. You'll probably have to load new clients and run with either VLMs or the MS NET commands.
