EMS and Windows NT (AREV Specific)

I am working with someone running an Arev 3.12 product, with an NT network and Windows NT 4.0 machines. This product has been running for some time, successfully, on all the user machines, but now when they're trying to set it up on a new machine, they get messages about EMS not being activated. To run the application, they are simply using a shortcut to where the app resides on the server - all the machines are accessing the same application, but the new one is the only one getting the memory message. It's a Compaq Deskpro EN 733Mhz machine. The other machines are older Compaq's.
If anyone has any thoughts as to why this might not be working on one computer, or anything that I could check, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Erica Bartlett

Erica,
Here's something I had save (cut/paste) earlier from a posting on this website.
It looks like you have the Compaq EN pc. Hope this help you. You may trying calling Compaq.
Article on Compaq EN series
Compaq acknowledge there is an issue with the Deskpro EN series!
Apparently there have been documented cases where EMS has been unable
to be activated.
A Canadian firm has caused this matter to be escalated to Level 3
Technical support within Compaq and with our case coming before them
at the same time the matter is now in the hands of the Corporate
Support team.
Compaq have undertaken to arrange a Patch!
We are grateful for their assistance with this critically important
matter and look forward to a speedy rectification.
Serious lesson for ALL Arev developers ….. check PC's out BEFORE
purchasing in bulk so that such an occurrence does not become a very
serious threat to the viability of your business.
In our case, there are 17 PC's involved and tens of thousnds of
dollars of investment as well as our credibility with our clients.
Thanks to all contributors to this discussion thread.
We will keep you posted.

erica,
Compaq have a patch to fix this.
The work around as a temp measure is to disable the inbuilt NIC and
install a separate network card pending receipt of the patch.
After the patch all works as it should.
