AREV Shortcuts (AREV Specific)

We are running AREV 3.12 on a WindowsNT platform. Over the past few years since converting to NT we have tested and modified our AREV shortcuts (based on the workstation OS) to work as efficiently as possible. We also access AREV apps through Terminal Server \ Metaframe at remote sites. According to our network people AREV hogs the CPU time on both the server and workstation. They have asked if there would be any repercussions for increasing the idle sensitivity slide on the properties sheet of the shortcut (MISC button). They believe this would help the CPU time to level off.
Has anyone tested this or have any other suggestions?

You can try idle sensitivity set to 70-80% - that seems to be the "sweet" spot.

I have come across a package called "Steve Smiths's Arev Utilities" that claims to produce a dramatic drop in CPU using AREV and Windows.
I have not used them but there a several quotes in their marketing material from AREV guru's that should know.
I don't have the website handy but the company is "State of the Art Systems Pty. Ltd, 9 wahroonga Crt., Rowville, Australia 3178".

Steve Smith is now proud to be associated with the Sprezzatura Group. The address you mention is also Sprezzatura's office address in Australia.
The CPUPLUS utility is mature for AREV 3.12. It is being patched at present for improved performance with different versions of AREV 2.x. Owing to forum rules re advertising product it can't be promoted here.
There are other recent threads on this site where the CPU utilization issues with AREV are more fully explained in generic terms.
