Hi,

I'm currently running an application developed using VIP1.0. I had successfully converted it to VIP2.2. Unfortunately, I'm unable to sort the report to a particular sorting order. The report control is connected to a local grid which I had pre-sorted the grid. When trying to Edit the "Sort Order" from the menu or even right-click at the detail portion, the application just hung.

I had even tried to do the followings :

1. Sort the report at the Report Designer using VIP1.0

2. Copy the report control converted using VIP2.2 to open the application amended, then

3. Paste the report control at the required application

The result I had is still unsorted.

Kindly assist us in this area.

Besides, I had the same problem as report by Mike (12/05/98) on the disappearing of the Page Break - After Bank even though we had tried to change the setting. I searched through the discussions and realised there is a patch for this problem.

In addition, the group header converted to *** when it was converted from VIP1.0.

Really appreciate your kind assistance as the customer would like to have the changes by end of this week.

Hello Angela,

We have encountered and patched the report sort order bug found in VRPUIN20.DLL, that also causes a GPF/Quincy Error.

I have sent you the updated file. Please rename the existing file, copy the newer attached file, and restart ViP.

I have reproduced the report group band behavior you are experiencing, when adding a column to an unconnected data object. However, the same issue does not occur when the data object is connected. After discussing this with the development staff they have mentioned that this feature was unfortunately not implemented with the local data object.

At this point there are no plans to include that functionality in ViP/DX, however, if that changes, we will re-post.

Hope this helps,

ViP/DX Support
