HP LASER 4 and 5 print drivers (AREV Specific)

We have had some clients report difficulties with the standard HP_LASERJET driver on the HP 4 and 5s. The problems were mostly in condensed printing and may be somehow version-specific since not all Laser 4 and 5s seem to have problems.
Ultimately, we found that the usual control codes for condensed printing (49 54 46 54 54 72) did not always work. We now use 27 40 115 56 83 and this seems to work. We also needed to adjust the Landscape codes to 27 40 115 49 80 for the Laser 4 (Portrait: 27 40 115 49 48 72) and 27 63 38 108 49 79 for Laser 5 (Portrait: 27 63 38 108 48 79).
Also, several clients reported difficulties with Laser 5 and Win 95. The solution to this was to disable the Spooler and choose 'Print directly to the printer'. For one client, we also had to direct the Genigraphics device to LPT1 before Arev would print. Go figure.
