I have been reviewing the Online Discussion, and I have encountered

serveral GFE's of late running AREV 2.12 in Windows 95 on Netware

3.12.

What are the best solutions to solve this particular problem ?

(a) Use of Client32

(b) AREV NLM

© Disable "Write back" cache at the workstation level

Interestingly, the file corruption mainly occurs as a result

of "printing" to a Netware queue ( via CAPTURE ), and entire

database frames are overwritten with the "printed" output.

Looking for a solution to the above ??

Thanks

(a) Use of Client32 - Novell Not MS

(b) AREV NLM - highly desirable but optional

© Disable "Write back" cache at the workstation level - Write behind? Yup

But your particular problem seems more likely to be the workstation running out of file handles. Try upping the files= in your config.sys.

Not sure about your problem, but I installed the NLM at a client's office about a month ago and the client is VERY happy. They say the Arev 2.1 application runs ALOT faster and no GFE's since then. They are using Windows 95 stations, the MS Client for NetWare, and cache is enabled on the system board, internal and external.
